Together We Inspire and Achieve

House Cup

Waltham St Lawrence has a thriving house points system where all pupils are assigned to a house, [Galileo (Green), Brunel (Blue), Yeats (Yellow), Redgrave (Red)] and remain in that house throughout their time at Waltham St Lawrence.

Every September new House Captains are elected in the first House Assembly. Year 6 children have to prepare and deliver their speeches to the children in their Houses as to why they want to be a House Captain, indicating clearly what qualities and skills they possess. The children then voted for their favourite candidate. The girl and boy from each House with the most votes become the House Captain for that House for the whole Year.

House Captains for the Year 2023-24 are:

Brunel (Blue): Monty Whitehead and Ellie Tate

Galileo (Green): Thomas Edwards and Caitlin Chang

Redgrave (Red): Oliver Hearne and Alexandra Gleave

Yeats (Yellow): Alex Souto-Long and Chloe Newman

House Points are awarded for all aspects of school life resulting in a weekly winner [published in the weekly newsletter] culminating with an outright winner at the end of Term 2, Term 4 and Term 6.
